My viewpoint on the world - 20/12/2025

With open source software, one person can build something genuinely useful. A lot of the internet began as hobby projects by unpaid devs, or people who had zero idea what they were doing. Those projects often beat the big company alternatives.
Now there is more government surveillance, more corporate control, more censorship and new digital borders appearing every day, while people trade privacy for cheap LLM (or the marketing term: AI) entertainment. That makes open, customizable, independent solutions more necessary than ever.

We need apps made for people, not for investors.
I don't upload my photos to the "Cloud". I don't have an Alexa and I don't let Amazon listen to private conversations in my own fucking home. I don't put my private stuff into OpenAI's ChatGPT (they arent even fucking open).

I use Home Assistant and other self hosted tools, or hell, tools that I built myself. Eventually I might run my own LLM. Yes, it costs me time and money, and sure, the UI and LLMs are worse (more often than not though are better), but I keep my data, avoid ads, and fucking stupid ass stupid fucking subscription gouging. I can build tools that do what I want, not what makes a company more money (as if they need any more) and this is what the Internet, and even the world should be.

Humanity is a collaborative species, not a product that should be owned, tracked and squeezed dry until my amazing Nazi Daddy Musk is satisfied.

If we dont fix the issues that plague our planet soon, if we dont revolt against these corrupt governments, systems and companies, then we wont last much longer. Humanity needs to wake the fuck up.
